The Desert Island Boom Set includes the three SCHOEPS basics that a production sound mixer needs on set, all in a single Peli Case. The CMC 1 U microphone amplifier, the MK 41 supercardioid capsule, and the KMIT shotgun capsule provide uncompromising coverage for both indoor and outdoor dialogue recording.

The set reflects how boom operators actually work. Indoors, the MK 41 delivers the controlled pickup pattern and natural sound character that dialogue recording demands. Its directional characteristic is exceptionally frequency-independent: sound from the sides and rear is strongly attenuated but captured without coloration. For outdoor use, the KMIT provides the additional reach required on location. Derived directly from the CMIT series, it shares its acoustic properties: high directivity combined with low coloration of off-axis sound. Swapping capsules takes only seconds.

At the core of the set is the CMC 1 U, the compact Colette amplifier whose electrical properties are in no way inferior to the CMC 6. As a Colette product, the Desert Island Boom Set is also an entry point: the CMC 1 U is compatible with all MK capsules, allowing the collection to be expanded at any time without needing to change the amplifier.
