Aaton Cantaress Standard Package
Cantaress is a full size mixing panel for the Cantar X3 and Cantar Mini. Like the Cantarem 2 it is a fully assignable fader panel with 12 100mm faders but it is far more extensive. The fader spacing is wider than on the Cantarem 2 and for each fader strip there are solo buttons and rotary faders. Each channel strip can set up like a traditional mixer. The first set of rotary faders have end stops and are assigned as input trims and the assignable second set of continuous rotary faders could be used as pan pots or assigned to any other function. If you are working on narrative drama where you are likely to be panned LCR, the top set of rotary faders could be assigned to other functions such as line out levels.
Each channel strip has two square buttons, one for solo and the other for equalisation. When eq is accessed, there is a graphic display on the full-width screen with the relevant rotary fader directly below each parameter. The screen displays the PPMs and the track names in line with the channel strips and much more additional information. On the right there is a left right up down and jog control. There are 12 assignable buttons which can be digitally labelled and a dedicated headphone level. The Cantaress is powered from external DC and is connected to the Cantar via a network cable enabling faster communication than USB.
